What Lex is

Lex is a reading application for content you provide: EPUB, PDF, CBZ (content-validated image ZIP), and TXT files you import yourself.

Your files stay yours

You retain all ownership and rights in the files you import and read with Lex. Lex claims no ownership of your content.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for having the legal right to access and use the content you import. Only import files you own or are permitted to use.

Lex doesn't provide content

Lex does not provide, host, sell, or distribute books, manga, comics, or other reading content. Any sample content offered in the app is public-domain material provided for convenience only.

Acceptable use

Use Lex lawfully. Don't use it to infringe copyright or other rights, and don't misuse or reverse-engineer the app beyond what the law permits.

Free and Pro

All baseline reading features are free: every supported format, library and import, Wi-Fi import, themes, bookmarks, and reading progress. One optional one-time Pro unlock adds exactly three features: Sharper pages (on-device upscaling), iCloud sync, and manual wide-page splitting. There is no subscription.

Purchases and refunds

Pro is purchased through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment, and purchases, billing, and refunds are governed by Apple's App Store policies, including any refund requests, which Apple handles.

Restore Purchases

If Pro doesn't appear after reinstalling or switching devices, use Restore Purchases in Settings while signed in with the same Apple ID.

No subscription

To be clear: there is no subscription, nothing recurs, and no ads.

Availability and changes

Lex is available on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Silicon Macs through “Designed for iPad”. Availability, compatibility, and features depend on your device and OS version and may change. We may update, change, or discontinue features, and aren't liable for unavailability or changes.

Warranty disclaimer

Lex is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Lex is limited to the amount you paid for the Pro unlock, if any.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction of residence, to the extent permitted by law.
